It seems that the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond did not go according to the distributors' plans. Now the Amazon marketplace has started refunding customers for their pre-orders.
According to Reddit users, they have started receiving notifications about the cancellation of pre-orders that were made back in 2017 after the game was announced. Some of them even had a discount and the old price. Probably, in this way, the service intends to get rid of an unprofitable offer, since over the years of waiting, the cost of the project has grown. However, some users think that they will soon announce the cancellation of the Nintendo Switch version.
Recall that back in the year of the announcement of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, rumors appeared that the game would be released for the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. During the Nintendo Direct 2024 event, the first gameplay of the project was shown and the release «window» was confirmed — 2025. The main character will again be Samus Aran.
Earlier at CES 2025, a mockup of the future Nintendo Switch 2 was shown, which will be released this year. We, in turn, have compiled a list of the most anticipated games that will soon visit both the new and old Nintendo consoles.
