Neverwinter Nights has been alive and well thanks to its dedicated community for over 20 years. This time, the acclaimed RPG from BioWare has received a major update that brings over 100 fixes and improvements to the Enhanced Edition.

A group of modders released a large patch, which the publisher Beamdog officially included in the isometric game. The notes list over a hundred changes, so below are the key ones:

  • multisample anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering now built in.;
  • tracy profiler with extensive collection of instrumentation points now compiled in and available to all players and server admins;
  • many new NWScript functions;
  • new logging framework;
  • major networking code improvements;
  • major performance improvements;
  • script compiler improvements from the open source release;
  • toolset quality of life improvements.

You can find the rest of the details on the official Beamdog website.

Recall that the last time such a major update was released was back in 2021. Then the expansion added HD models of characters and equipment, as well as improved textures. However, for weak PCs, the patch turned out to be problematic.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is a reissue of the original 2002 game with add-ons Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark and Kingmaker. It was released in 2018.

Earlier, another group of enthusiasts released a beta version of the mod for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which brings back the content shown at E3 2019.
