Modders have finally released the long-awaited Lordbound expansion for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, a project that has been in development for 11 years. The mod introduces a massive new region — the Druadach Valley, larger than Solstheim — filled with fresh events, characters, and storylines.

According to the plot, after two centuries of isolation the valley reestablishes its ties with Skyrim and High Rock, immediately becoming the center of a large-scale conflict. The war revolves around the strategic trade route between Solitude and Jehanna, involving the Imperial Legion, the Orcs of Garshakur led by Chief Gorek, and the young Lord Haelan, who struggles to defend the last lands of his people. Players must decide which side to support and determine the ultimate fate of Druadach.

Lordbound offers more than 60 hours of content, including the largest story campaign ever created for Skyrim. Players can expect:

  • over 40 new quests;
  • more than 50 dungeons, featuring some of the game’s most impressive locations;
  • three major storylines with choices and consequences;
  • new weapons, armor, spells, and items;
  • fully voiced NPCs and an original soundtrack.

The fan expansion is available for download here. Currently, the mod is in a “soft launch” state: all core features are playable, but the developers warn that bugs remain and voice acting work is still ongoing. Installation requires SKSE and several additional mods, including Fuz Ro D-oh – Silent Voice.

Players can begin their adventure in Solitude or Whiterun, where a suspicious Khajiit will offer them the chance to travel to Druadach. The valley can be accessed via a tunnel near Mor Khazgur or through the Imperial passage northwest of Solitude.

In related news, new screenshots of Slyblivion — a fan remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion on Skyrim’s engine — were also shared yesterday.
