Just like in the original Resident Evil 4, in its remake, players will encounter various secrets and puzzles. Some are required to progress through the story, while others are optional and unlock access to some valuable treasures. In this guide, we will describe how to solve all the puzzles in the game.

How to Solve the Hexagonal Emblem Puzzle in the Valley (Chapter 2)

In Chapter 2, you will need to retrieve your equipment, after which the hero will meet the merchant for the first time. Explore the Valley and fight a large number of enemies to find the hexagonal emblem with an eagle. It is located above the building to the right of the entrance.

Return to the merchant and apply the emblem to the locked door. You need to rotate it as follows:

How to Open the Padlock in the Village Chief's House

To solve this puzzle, you need to go up to the second floor and read a book. But you can save time by setting the following symbols (from left to right):

  • Harvest;
  • Pig;
  • Child.

Inside, you will find a Crystal Ball, which needs to be inserted into the door on the second floor and solve another small puzzle. Use the keys to rotate the spheres inside to create the image of the symbol.

How to Find Hexagonal Parts and Solve the Puzzle (Chapter 3)

In Chapter 3, you will reach the Quarry. Deal with the infected dogs and run forward until you find yourself near the merchant. Opposite him, there is a red chest. Examine it to get «Hexagonal Part A».

Continue forward until you reach the Fish Farm. Go to the very end and jump off the wooden platform. Immediately turn around and go under it to find a red chest. Inside is «Hexagonal Part B».

The last hexagonal part can be obtained during the main quest. When you reach the puzzle at the Chapel in a small cave (described above), solve the puzzle and enter inside. On the right, there will be a small chest — examine it.

Now head to the dock where you first found the boat, insert all hexagonal parts, and solve the puzzle.

You can use the following combination (normal difficulty):

  • Turn the left side;
  • Turn the top side.

Hardcore:

  • Twice to the right;
  • Twice to the left;
  • Once to the top.

How to Solve the Symbol Puzzle at the Chapel in the Large Cave (Chapter 4)

In the story, you will need to inspect two points on the map. Head to the cave and moor the boat. Here you will encounter many enemies. Deal with them and climb the ladder to the elevation. This will lead you to the puzzle. If you carefully inspect the location, you can find the drawn symbols.

To solve this puzzle, simply inspect the nearby area. The combination consists of the following symbols:

This will give you the Heretic's Head.

How to Solve the Symbol Puzzle at the Chapel in the Small Cave (Chapter 4)

Head northeast and reach the cave.

Here you will also face a puzzle that needs to be solved to progress through the story. Use the following symbols:

This will give you the Blasphemer's Head.

How to Solve the Puzzle in the Church (Chapter 4)

Enter the church and inspect the box on the right. Here you will find the blue regulator handle. Approach the altar and press the yellow lever on the left. Insert the found handle into the stand with other levers.

Before this, we recommend picking up the small key, exiting the church to the room with the typewriter, and taking the treasure. When you're ready, return to the altar and interact with it. Simply rotate the red, blue, and green disks until you assemble the image shown below.

How to Solve the Sword Puzzle in the Castle (Chapter 6)

After dealing with the blind mutant in the castle dungeon, you will reach the next puzzle. At the locked gate, you will find four images, three of which allow you to pick up swords. But one more is needed to solve the puzzle.

Approach the door on the left and pull the lever.

Now shoot the two gongs on the right side of the room — «Snake» and «Eagle».

The gates will open, and you will be able to pick up the fourth item for the puzzle — the «Bloodied Sword».

Insert the swords into the paintings in the following order (from left to right):

  • Iron Sword;
  • Golden Sword;
  • Bloodied Sword;
  • Rusty Sword.

How to Solve the Lithograph Plates Puzzle (Chapter 8)

In chapter eight, after finding the crimson lantern and reaching Ada Wong, you will face a small puzzle. Examine the room and find three lithograph plates (B, C, and D).

Insert them into the door in any order, then turn as shown in the screenshot below.

Pay attention to the geometric shapes in which the items are located (shield, helmet, armor, and sword).

How to Solve the Maze Puzzle and Raise All Flags (Chapter 9)

Reaching chapter 9, you'll find yourself in a large hedge maze. If you are playing the game for the first time, you can achieve an accomplishment by throwing a flash grenade at several crows sitting in the central square if you haven't done so in previous chapters.

Climb the small tower to the left of the stairs and activate the lever. You will see the first of three flags open. To proceed, you will need to find two more levers and interact with them.

Now, descend and run to the path left of the stairs. Here you will encounter a mutated dog. You can chase it down the left path and kill it. Here, you will also find a healing spray and a wind-up toy.

Return to the fork and run in the opposite direction. In the cage, you will see several dogs. Throw a grenade at them or dispose of them by other quick means. If they scatter, killing them will be much more difficult.

Around the next turn, a mutant will jump out from behind the bushes.

At the fork, turn left and in the dead end, pick up the treasure «Stylish Chessboard».

Return to the path and look to the right. Here is the second tower with a lever.

Open the latch on the grate and turn into the second passage on the right. Be ready to kill a dog that will jump out from behind the bushes. At the same moment, two mutants will break out of their pen, so you will have to deal with them too.

Continue along the only path until you reach the lever. Command Ashley to interact with it, then return and climb the ladder behind the door that your companion opened.

As soon as you climb up and activate the last lever, cultists will appear on the scene and try to take Ashley. Quickly jump down and fend off the attack from behind the bars. In addition, along with the cultists, all the remaining dogs that you might not have killed up to this point will converge in the center of the maze.

The path is clear. Now you can enter the main hall of the castle.

How to Solve the Puzzle in the Dining Hall and Retrieve the Snake Head (Chapter 9)

Upon reaching the main hall in the ninth chapter, you will have to solve a small puzzle to progress in the story. Command Ashley to sit on the far right chair behind the first table.

Leon, on the other hand, should sit on the far left chair behind the second table. After doing this, interact with the table bell.

Now you can pick up the snake head.

How to Solve the Lantern Puzzle While Playing as Ashley

In the dungeon, you will encounter a small puzzle. You need to correctly position three lanterns. The correct combination (from left to right):

  • Moon (left);
  • Sun (center);
  • Star (right).

How to Solve the Turret Puzzle (Chapter 13)

Upon reaching the island, you will encounter automatic turrets. They are stationary, but if you get too close to the red laser, Leon will die.

To reach the gates of the building where Jack Krauser took Ashley, you will need to interact with only three such devices. But if you switch the two central turrets, you can pick up red herb and some ammunition.

First, you should disable the first turret. It's quite simple. Go deep into the cave and climb the ledge on the left. Reach the dead end and interact with the switch.

Run to the dockyard. If the enemies spot you, they will raise the alarm, and a mini-boss with an automatic crossbow will appear. Deal with them before continuing.

As we've already noted, you have the option not to interact with the two central turrets. To do this, simply go through the building on the right and continue forward. To the left will be the passage to the last turret.

But if you need to collect all resources and the treasure, enter the building on the right, climb up the ladder, and switch the turret on the elevation.

Collect the treasure in the chest to the left of the building with the turret.

Return to the tower again and exit on the other side. To the left of the turret, you will see a passage — that's where you need to go.

To the right and left of the staircase, of course, there are windows through which Leon could climb. But he stubbornly refuses to do so. Therefore, switch the last turret and run back to the penultimate turret.

Jump into the window in the building on the right, then go through the adjacent building to reach the door.
