Guide for Infinity Nikki Beginners: Collecting Outfits, Earning Spin Currency, and Tips
Infinity Nikki is a recently popular dress-up game with an open world and gacha system. Released on December 5, 2024, it became the fifth part of the Nikki franchise, serving as a continuation of the previous part, Shining Nikki. However, unlike its predecessors, the game features a larger explorable map and a banner system that allows you to collect specific outfits using in-game currency. In this guide, we'll cover the main aspects of the game and provide recommendations for collecting and upgrading outfits.
Objective of the Game in Infinity Nikki
The main essence of the game in Infinity Nikki, besides exploring the world, lies in collecting various outfits and other fashion attributes, creating stylish and diverse looks, as well as fashion competitions where you need to create a specific look that fits the given criteria. For this purpose, each item in the game is assigned five value indicators: Sweet, Fresh, Elegant, Sexy, and Cool.
In addition, the game features platformer elements: by alternating the heroine's abilities, you can not only groom animals and catch insects but also jump high into the air, climbing to higher surfaces. As the story progresses, Nikki will acquire new skills, including flying short distances and switching to her companion — a cat named Momo. You can also take beautiful and atmospheric photos, as the game offers an advanced camera, various poses, and interactive locations for photoshoots.
Nikki's goal is to explore the mysterious Miraland, where she was thrown by a mysterious dress, and to search for the Miraculous Outfits.
Where to Start in Infinity Nikki
First and foremost, focus all your attention on the main storyline. As you progress, the main character will not only gain many useful abilities but also unlock various locations hidden on the main map. However, it's not necessary to complete all available main quests fully. For a more or less comfortable game, it's best to reach the moment of obtaining the Pear-Pal board and opening the main part of the interface, especially since some parts of the story unlock at a certain Stylist rank. Once you have the Pear-Pal board, you can complete side world and random quests. For event progression, it's better to finish more chapters of the main story to unlock secret locations and abilities.
Throughout the game, evenly progress through the main storyline (continuing to focus primarily on it), journal quests, and events. Also, don't forget to collect Whimstars and Dews of Inspiration for additional rewards. Moreover, at later ranks, dungeons will open, where you can obtain additional materials, farm eureka, and earn other useful items. It's equally important to gather plants, groom animals, fish, and catch insects — all these materials will allow you to create outfits and rare clothing items.
How to Activate Abilities in Infinity Nikki and What They Are
There are a total of ten abilities in the game: the first two are given at the very start, while the rest can be obtained through the storyline. Among them:
Floating Outfit
Allows you to hover slightly in the air after jumping and then glide to the ground. One of the main, unchangeable abilities. It is activated by jumping in the air and allows you to navigate the sky and overcome various obstacles.
Purification Outfit
Another main ability obtained in the game's prologue. With this outfit, you can purify Esselings — small but hostile monsters that shoot dark energy. It is activated by the left mouse button (on PC), and if you hold the button, you can aim at a specific enemy. The outfit also allows you to purify Dews of Inspiration particles.
Animal Grooming Outfit
In the early chapters of the story, Nikki will be able to create a special outfit for grooming animals. The obtained fur or feathers can then be used to craft clothing items. To use the outfit on an animal, you need to approach it closely and, after the brush icon appears, press the right mouse button. It's important to know that not all animals are willing to be groomed: to catch particularly skittish animals, you need to quickly approach them and activate the ability. The outfit is selected in the skill wheel using the Tab button.
Fishing Outfit
Another ability outfit obtained in the early chapters of the main storyline. With it, you can catch various fish in designated areas. These can be identified by circles on the water and the fish swimming there. The skill is also activated by the right mouse button. During this action, Nikki casts a fishing rod into the water. Then you need to wait a bit for the target to bite the hook. A message will appear, and the fish itself will have a circular stamina bar. To deplete it, guide the rod in the opposite direction of where the animal is swimming. When it reaches zero, start quickly pressing the left mouse button to reel the target to the shore. You may need to exhaust the fish several times, but if caught, a cutscene will play. The skill can be raised in the same ability wheel.
Bug Catching Outfit
Works similarly to the Animal Grooming Outfit but allows you to catch various insects and arthropods. They are also needed for crafting items, just like fish and fur. The challenge is that insects in the game are quite small, so they can quickly disappear from sight, especially the skittish ones (like bees). However, when you are near the target, a yellow net icon will appear — that's when you can activate the skill with the right mouse button, and the item will automatically appear in your inventory.
Electrician Outfit
Allows you to repair various electrical devices — from street lamps to panels. By selecting the outfit in the skill wheel, you will immediately see the broken device, which will start glowing green. Approach it closely and press the right mouse button. A window will open where you need to solve a puzzle: connect two power sources with wires. To do this, you need to rotate these wires so they form a single closed circuit. You can rotate them by clicking on the black cells with the left mouse button. Once the device is repaired, you can receive various rewards.
Floral Gliding Outfit
Somewhat reminiscent of the Floating Outfit but allows you to fly longer distances. However, its duration is limited by stamina, and the ability can only be activated from a high altitude and only in Stoneville — the settlement where it can be obtained through the storyline. This dress is also activated by the right mouse button, but in the air (usually after using the Floating Outfit). Additionally, in certain areas, there are greenish air rings and flowers — some allow you to speed up in the sky, while others restore stamina.
What is Pear-pal in Infinity Nikki
Pear-pal is a special device for all Stylists (including Nikki) that has many functions. For the player, it serves as an interface where various functions appear over time. Among them: achievements, mail, outfit and eureka upgrades, time change, and much more. Let's focus on the main tabs (not all may be presented in the article):
On the bottom panel from left to right: guides, surveys, support, mail (messages with rewards and developer-player communication), settings, announcements, exit from the game.
On the main panel, the following tabs are presented:
- Store — a shop where you can donate and buy in-game currency;
- Wardrobe — Nikki's wardrobe where you can change outfits;
- Sketches — a section where you can craft clothing;
- Resonanse — banners where you can draw outfits;
- Courses — achievements;
- Factions — factions where you can find stylists and battle them in a fashion contest;
- Dig, Pear-Pal — a section where you can obtain various crafting items over time;
- Eureka — viewing and upgrading eurekas, special items that enhance overall style;
- Glow Up — upgrading outfits and increasing their level;
- Evolution — improving costumes and creating new versions of ability outfits;
- Run, Pear-Pal — changing time, clocks;
- Compendium — counting all outfits and clothing items, as well as their rating;
- Mira Level — world level and rewards for increasing it.
How to Obtain Outfits in Infinity Nikki and Why They Are Needed
Outfits and clothing items can be obtained in various ways. They are given as ready-made items and as blueprints, which can then be used to create an item. Additionally, they can be obtained in banners and purchased from various vendors. Some items are given by different characters in the open world. Besides the items themselves, there are cosmetics and eurekas — decorative items that increase the score in fashion battles.
Aside from the battles and abilities, most items in Infinity Nikki are created simply for beauty and assembling unique looks. By combining all the items, Nikki can be transformed into a forest fairy or a daring goth. Moreover, you can walk around the world in your outfits, take photos in them, and they even appear in all cutscenes and dialogues.
How Banners Work in Infinity Nikki
An important but not fundamental part of the game is the gacha system. Thanks to in-game currency (diamonds), you can draw a liked limited outfit, which is simply stylish or an alternative to ability costumes. For example, an unsuccessful electrician's uniform can be replaced with a frog costume, but it can only be obtained for a limited time.
There are three banners in the game: two event banners with four-star rarity outfits and one with several five-star ones to choose from. Different types of spins are needed for different banners. The outfits themselves are assembled in parts: for one spin, you can get only one part of the outfit. There are usually 8-9 parts, sometimes fewer or more. However, the guarantee, unlike other games, is more forgiving: in the event banner, an item of the required rarity drops once every five spins (guaranteed), and in the standard one — a legendary can appear approximately once every 20 spins, and a four-star also once in five.
After collecting a complete outfit, you can continue to spin, and upon receiving a second copy, you will have the opportunity to upgrade it, changing the costume's colors in the process. Generally, three-star items drop, but some can be quite interesting for styling. Overall, the gacha in Infinity Nikki can be considered non-demanding and even optional, unlike other similar games where spinning banners is highly recommended.
