Media: the popular series “Shogun” will be renewed for a second season

Deadline has announced that Shogun, one of the most popular shows of 2024, has been renewed for a second season. Actor Hiroyuki Sanada has already signed a contract to return to his role.

According to Deadline, the creators of «Shogun» decided to continue the story on the wave of success. Let us remind you that the show based on the novel of the same name by James Clavell had a great start on the Hulu service and received a lot of rave reviews from critics.

This time, the second season will have an independent plot, since the first one completely adapted the source material.

A new film based on the Lord of the Rings universe was previously announced. It was called «The Hunt for Gollum».
