New Mortal Kombat Movie to Feature Kano 2.0 — Character Set for Changes

Recently, actor Josh Lawson, who played Kano in the 2019 Mortal Kombat film, revealed that his character will undergo significant changes and evolution in the new installment. According to him, it will be something like Kano 2.0.

I can say that in the second Mortal Kombat, Kano has a new chapter in his life, that [chapter] being death. And you know, death alters you. So yeah, prepare yourselves for a Kano 2.0. As we all know, if anyone's a fan of games, Kano's alliances can change at the drop of a hat, and that's certainly true in the second one... [It's going to] keep you on your toes guessing [about] who Kano's kind of siding with.
— Josh Lawson

To remind, in the first part, Sonya killed Kano and obtained his dragon mark. However, according to Josh Lawson, the character will return in the sequel.

The premiere of Mortal Kombat 2 is set for October 24, 2025. Earlier, the first look at Shao Kahn, portrayed by British actor and bodybuilder Martyn Ford, was revealed online.
