Will Smith to Star in New Matrix? Actor Teases Fans with Social Media Post
As many know, in the 1999 film The Matrix, the role of Neo could have been played by Will Smith instead of Keanu Reeves. However, Smith turned down the role in favor of the sci-fi western Wild Wild West. Recently, the actor posted a cryptic message that immediately intrigued fans.
In his post, Will Smith recounted the story of declining the role of Neo in The Matrix. Notably, the post ends with the message: "Wake up, Will..." This is a nod to a scene in the film where Neo receives a similar message on his computer, marking the beginning of his journey to freedom.
Some users believe that Will Smith might be teasing his appearance in the new "Matrix" film, which is already in production.
