During CES 2025, Sony announced three new adaptations of its games. The lineup includes films for Horizon Zero Dawn and Helldivers 2, as well as an anime series for Ghost of Tsushima.

The Horizon Zero Dawn movie is being developed in collaboration with Columbia Pictures. Head of PlayStation Productions, Asad Qizilbash, stated that the adaptation is in the early stages of production.

Just imagine, Aloy's beloved origin story set in a vibrant, far future world filled with the giant machines, brought to you for the first time on the big screen.

The Helldivers 2 movie is being developed jointly by Sony Productions and Sony Pictures.

Looking ahead as to what might come next, I'm excited to announce we are working with Sony Pictures on developing a film adaptation of our amazingly popular PlayStation game Helldivers 2.

As for the Ghost of Tsushima anime series, this project will be based not only on the original game but also its cooperative mode, Legends. The series is being created with Aniplex, known for anime series like Fullmetal Alchemist, Gurren Lagann, Monogatari, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Sword Art Online, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

The director is Takanobu Mizuno, with animation by Kamikaze Douga and a storyline by Gen Urobuchi.

The Ghost of Tsushima anime will offer fans an exciting new way to experience the game in an anime style that will be bold and groundbreaking.
— Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini
Having already proven the immense quality and versatility of our gaming properties across multiple successful film and television projects, we couldn’t be more excited to announce our first ever anime adaptation. Ghost of Tsushima’s rich, immersive world and its fantastical Legends mode based on Japanese mythology provide the perfect canvas for this project, and Aniplex is the perfect partner to translate Sucker Punch Productions’ hit video game into a stunning new anime series.

Additionally, a series based on God of War is also in production.
