Media: God of War series production to restart from scratch
October 18, 2024, 04:34 AM
It appears that the production of the series based on the popular God of War game franchise has been halted and will now start from scratch. This information comes from Deadline, citing their own sources.
The project has already seen the departure of some key figures, including showrunner Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus.
Reportedly, one of the completed script versions was well-received by Sony and Prime, but the studios ultimately decided to take a different creative direction.
It's worth noting that God of War game director Cory Barlog is still involved in the series' creation.
Previously, we reported that Sony might release new remasters of the God of War franchise in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
