The official release of Stellar Blade, a sci-fi slasher about a special forces fighter named Eva, has taken place on PlayStation 5. This marks the debut project of the South Korean studio Shift Up, which was announced in 2019.
The action game has received predominantly enthusiastic reviews, scoring over 80 points on Metacritic and OpenCritic. Critics praised the combat system and flawless optimization, but noted a forgettable story and dull side quests.
The standard edition in the PS Store is priced at $70. Yesterday, the studio announced that the game would receive a patch with a «New Game +» mode upon release.
Videos of complete playthroughs of Stellar Blade have already appeared on YouTube. It seems that it takes about 11 hours to reach the final credits.
