«Slick console debut»: Stellar Blade Gets First Reviews
Stellar Blade is set to release in just two days, and the first reviews are already surfacing online. The game is doing well: it has an 82 points on Metacritic and 85 points on OpenCritic.
Most critics gave the game a solid eight, praising its deep combat system, spectacular boss fights, and excellent optimization. However, many were disappointed by the dull characters, a narrative filled with cliched plot twists, and tedious side quests. It's often mentioned that the game still couldn't surpass NieR: Automata and Bayonetta.
Several publications also criticized the overly sexualized main heroine. «The sexualisation is so over the top, so brazen, so shameless, that I can only deduce that to dehumanise and objectify women was the point,» wrote a reviewer from Progress Bar. Meanwhile, IGN praised the variety of costumes, noting that unlocking them is as enjoyable as in the Marvel's Spider-Man series.
