On November 7, an unknown YouTube user uploaded footage of an early build of Outlast from 2013. The video likely surfaced following Red Barrels' October data leak.
The video shows several segments from different chapters, including a scene where the player infiltrates Mount Massive Asylum. According to fans, the early version looks nearly identical to the final game, but there are some differences. Most notably, players observed an alternate design for Chris Walker.
Currently, Red Barrels is developing The Outlast Trials, a cooperative horror game focused on Cold War-era experiments. Recently, an official film adaptation was also announced.
