Deadline: James Bond Star Daniel Craig to Appear in New DC Superhero Film
Deadline has revealed details about an upcoming film in the DC Extended Universe. According to the outlet, Warner Bros. is planning to adapt the story of Sgt. Rock—a World War II soldier who fought in many of history's pivotal battles.
Sgt. Rock first appeared in comics in 1959. Known for his sharpshooting and endurance, the character has no superpowers but has earned legendary status for his battlefield prowess. Hollywood has attempted to adapt his story multiple times—in one iteration, Arnold Schwarzenegger was set to star, with Guy Ritchie attached as director. However, production never got off the ground.
This time, according to Deadline, Italian director Luca Guadagnino will helm the project. An Oscar nominee, Guadagnino is known for Challengers starring Zendaya and is slated to direct a new adaptation of American Psycho. Daniel Craig is expected to take on the role of Sgt. Rock.
The next major DC film, James Gunn's Superman: Legacy, is set to premiere on July 10, 2025. Gunn has confirmed that the movie will include Superman's dog, Krypto.
