Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski has revealed the release date for his upcoming Witcher novel. The book will go on sale on November 29, and readers of the latest issue of Nowa Fantastyka will get a sneak peek with the first chapter available tomorrow.
The new book is titled Raven's Crossing and will focus on the earliest adventures of Geralt of Rivia. The young Witcher has just embarked on his journey as a monster hunter, but «youthful idealism repeatedly crashes against the harsh reality.»
This time, the grandmaster of Polish fantasy takes us back to Geralt's youth, when he was just starting his Witcher training. Armed with two rune swords, he battles monsters, rescues innocent maidens, and helps unfortunate lovers. He strives to adhere to the unwritten code passed down by his teachers and mentors. As usual, life doesn't spare him disappointments — youthful idealism repeatedly crashes against the harsh reality. The story continues. The tale never ends...
As for the upcoming Witcher game from CD Projekt RED, not much has been revealed yet. In the summer, the developers mentioned having made «substantial progress» in development, so fans are eagerly awaiting more updates.
