CD Projekt shared the development status of The Witcher 4
CD Projekt released a new financial report, which includes information about the development of upcoming titles. According to the company, its next game, The Witcher 4, has made «substantial progress» and is almost entering full production.
Currently, 410 people are working on the new Witcher game — 3 more employees than in the spring. The publisher has also expanded the teams working on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and the online Witcher game. The remake of the first The Witcher, also known by the codename Canis Majoris, was not mentioned in the report.
- Polaris (The Witcher 4) — 410 people;
- Orion (Cyberpunk 2077 sequel) — 60 people;
- Sirius (multiplayer spin-off of The Witcher by The Molasses Flood) — 42 people;
- Hadar (game in a new universe) — 20 people.
Overall, the company is doing well — net profit for the first half of the year has increased. This is largely due to the sales of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion.
As part of the report, CD Projekt also confirmed that it plans to develop the animation direction following the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Recall that last year the company also announced a Cyberpunk movie.
