Insider: Lucasfilm Developing Series Set in Iconic Star Wars: KOTOR Universe
Reliable insider Daniel Richtman has reported that Lucasfilm is developing a series set in the universe of the iconic game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It is expected to be released on the Disney Plus streaming service.
Details are still under wraps, but the series is unlikely to be a direct adaptation of the game.
Notably, rumors about a KOTOR-inspired film project have been circulating for quite some time. For instance, back in 2019, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy hinted at such a possibility.
Additionally, in 2021, Sony announced the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, about which little is known so far. The development is being handled by Aspyr Media.
The original Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was released in 2003 and received positive feedback from gamers. The main events take place 4000 years before the events depicted in George Lucas's films.
