A former DICE employee has revealed that the new installment of Battlefield is being developed by an entirely new team, as 98% of the original staff have left the studio. According to the developer, this situation arose due to a major restructuring at Electronic Arts following several failed launches.
For this reason, the developer advises fans to "temper expectations." "This is a new era of the game made by a completely new group of people, following a new philosophy. Whether that's good or bad depends on your personal outlook," he wrote on Bluesky.
Currently, four studios are working on Battlefield 2025: DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and EA Motive. It was previously reported that the game will feature a modern setting, with controversial elements like specialists and 128-player battles being removed.
