Rumor: Horizon Online Game Canceled (Updated)

Update: The Horizon Universe MMO Is Not Canceled. A user from the Korean gaming community Ruliweb contacted the author of the original news piece and confirmed that the canceled Project H has no connection to the Horizon series.

Original: It seems that Sony has canceled live-service games not only from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games but also from other studios. According to the South Korean channel MTN, NCSoft has halted the development of several games—one of which might be a multiplayer action game set in the Horizon universe.

Sources claim that NCSoft stopped working on projects codenamed Pantera, H, and J. The decision was reportedly made at the end of last year, and now most of the company’s resources are focused on the Lineage series.

Users on the ResetEra forum analyzed resumes of NCSoft developers and discovered that Project H (also known as Project Skyline) is indeed an MMO set in the Horizon universe. Based on one of the profiles, the game had been in development since at least 2021.

It’s worth noting that in 2023, footage from another multiplayer Horizon game, developed by Guerilla Games, was leaked online. Its current status remains unknown.
