Oppo has officially introduced the Find N5 — a foldable device that reimagines compactness and power. It stands as the thinnest in its class, measuring just 4.21 mm when unfolded — slimmer than a standard headphone jack. Despite this, engineers managed to pack in a robust 5,600 mAh battery and the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, placing the gadget on par with traditional flagship smartphones.

The Find N5 impresses not only with its specs but also with its ergonomics. When folded, it measures 8.93 mm thick and weighs 229 grams, making it 10 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The external 6.62-inch display with up to 1,600 nits of brightness makes using the device in its folded state feel just like a regular smartphone. The internal 8.12-inch display, despite the ultra-thin body, features enhanced shock-resistant coating to reduce the risk of damage.

A titanium alloy hinge, 3D-printed for precision, reduced the mechanism’s size by 26% while maintaining durability. During the launch event, Oppo showcased the device’s strength by suspending a 20 kg weight from it — a bold but arguably controversial durability test. The smartphone also becomes the first in its category to feature triple water resistance (IPX6/IPX8/IPX9).

The camera system is headlined by a 50 MP periscope module with 3x optical zoom and a unique macro mode that captures objects from 10 cm away without losing detail. Hasselblad features, AI-enhanced retouching, and reflection removal put it in direct competition with Samsung and Google’s flagship devices. The Oppo Find N5 supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, fully recharging the battery in just one hour. A standout feature is the Remote Mac Control, which turns the smartphone into a mini remote for computer control using the built-in trackpad. The global release is scheduled for February 28, with an estimated price of $1,860 for the 16+512 version. However, in the US, the device is expected to arrive only in 2025 under the OnePlus brand.
