Report: Nintendo Switch 2 Could Have the Biggest Launch in Gaming History

Bloomberg has spoken with analysts about expectations for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is rumored to launch in June. Here’s what experts are saying:
- Investors anticipate that the Switch 2 will be the biggest console launch in gaming history. The original Switch is currently the third best-selling console of all time;
- The device is expected to sell rapidly regardless of price—fans are eager for new Nintendo hardware;
- The Switch 2 could be Nintendo’s most expensive console yet, with an estimated price of $400 or more;
- At launch, the console will reportedly have a strong lineup, including new Mario Kart, Pokémon, and Metroid titles, along with third-party projects;
- Nintendo is expected to manufacture 6–8 million units for launch—a massive stockpile. For comparison, the original Switch sold 2.7 million units in its first month.
