WEBFISHING Guide for Beginners: Tips and Tricks to Master Fishing

Forget about everyday worries, enjoy fishing, meet new people, or chat with friends — all this is offered by the game WEBFISHING. Although it is not limited exclusively to fishing mechanics, mastering a few key nuances can become your advantage. In this guide, you will find useful tips for beginners that will allow you to become a master angler.

Complete Tasks

You have probably already noticed the Pawprint Point board in the hub area. It tracks the tasks you complete and helps you monitor your progress. All tasks are received automatically, and all you need to do is interact with the board to receive your well-deserved rewards.

If you fish without a specific goal, progress in completing tasks will slow down. To speed it up, focus on fishing in areas related to your current tasks. Completing tasks unlocks new levels, along with better rewards. For example, fishing in the lake contributes to leveling up the corresponding task, which will eventually allow you to earn more.

What to Upgrade First

After selling fish in the hub, you will receive money that can be invested in upgrades for your fishing rod, increasing its efficiency. Simply go to the frog in the hut next to the Pawprint Point board — it will offer you various upgrades. An even more important element is the bait licenses. High-level bait will allow you to catch rarer and more expensive fish, significantly increasing your income.

However, focusing solely on bait licenses is not the best strategy. You will also need to upgrade your fishing rod to effectively handle rarer and more valuable catches. Start with prioritizing the Catch Chance upgrade — it will reduce waiting time for a bite and increase the frequency of successful catches. Then try to upgrade the Tacklebox, so you don't waste time on frequent stops to buy new bait.

Once you have enough funds, upgrade Rod Luck to increase your chances of bonus catches and rare fish. At the beginning of the game, be sure to upgrade Rod Power to at least the third level to handle larger fish.

Fishing in the Rain

Before the rain starts, a huge cloud will appear above you, and the screen will begin to darken. Remember that the rain covers only the area under this cloud. This is an important aspect of the game, as some types of fish can only be caught in rainy weather.

If you intend to complete the tasks in the journal, you will need to catch the following types of fish that appear only in rainy weather:

  • Anomalocaris;
  • Helicoprion;
  • Horseshoe Crab;
  • Leedsichthys.

Since the rain cloud moves, be ready to follow it to continue fishing. Also, pay attention to meteor events — you will hear a distinct impact sound when a meteorite falls into the water. At these moments, you will have a chance to catch a rare «Unidentified Fish Object». You can learn more about meteorites from this guide.

Upgrade Your Camp

In addition to upgrades, baits, and cosmetic items, you can also level up your camp. Talk to the frog to upgrade the camp, which will unlock new baits and upgrades. There are four camp levels in total, each requiring significant investments.

However, if you don't have enough funds, we do not recommend rushing this upgrade. The new items that become available after leveling up the camp will also be expensive. It's better to first purchase everything you need at the current level before moving on to the next.

Bucket Upgrades

Upgrades in the game are not limited to the fishing rod — when you go fishing, you always have buckets categorized as «Saltwater» and «Freshwater». Their main task is to catch fish along with the player.

Your two fishing companions can catch almost as much fish as you do. The more you invest in their upgrades, the more effective they become, sometimes even catching rare species of fish. Just keep them close to you while fishing.

Choosing Bait

Among all the items available for purchase, it is recommended to pay attention to bait. Higher quality bait significantly increases the chance of catching rare fish, so investing in licenses for it plays a key role. However, do not forget about upgrading your rod — if you encounter a powerful fish and your rod is not strong enough, you risk losing your catch.

Choose bait depending on the fish you plan to catch. For example, if your goal is an Alpha level fish, use the Nautilus bait. If you need to catch common fish, worms will suffice. For the most profitable fishing, it is worth purchasing higher-level bait — it will ensure rare catches and, consequently, higher income.

Choosing Lures

Lures become available depending on your camp level, and each has a unique effect. Choose lures according to the goals you set for yourself. For example, if your task is to catch a giant fish, use a large lure to increase your chances of success. If you need to catch a treasure chest to complete a task, the best choice would be a magnet lure, which attracts valuable loot.

It is a good idea to collect various lures, especially if your goal is to fill the journal. If you only have Alpha rarity fish left, consider purchasing the Golden Hook for $9999 to significantly improve your chances of success. Additionally, if you use expensive lures, the Efficient Lure will help reduce their consumption, making this lure a valuable long-term investment.

Treasure Hunting

Fishing is not the only way to earn money. You can also go treasure hunting with a metal detector. Although it's not as profitable as fishing, treasure hunting can be a great source of income in the early stages of the game. To do this, head to the beach and use the detector on the sand. When a red dot appears above your head, it signals that you have found a treasure. As you get closer to the target, the dot will blink faster until it reaches its peak.

Temporary Boosts

It's not necessary to invest all your funds in various upgrades. Spare money can be spent on drinks with effects from the hub's vending machine. They are divided into four categories:

  1. Special Drinks — affect your appearance.
  2. Adult Drinks — create funny effects that do not impact gameplay.
  3. Speed Slurpee — temporarily increases movement speed.
  4. Catcher's Cola — provides temporary buffs that improve fishing.

The most important drink among all available is Catcher's Cola. Keep a few cans with you to temporarily increase catch speed and reel speed. Additionally, if you actively use the metal detector in the early stages of the game, the speed drink will be an excellent choice to enhance your treasure hunting efficiency.
