Lexar launches IP68-rated Armor SD cards with enhanced protection

At CES 2025, Lexar showcased its latest innovation, the Armor SD card series. These new cards feature a robust stainless-steel casing, making them 37 times more durable than standard plastic models. The Armor line includes two variants—Armor Gold and Armor Silver—each offering different write speeds: 160 MB/s for the Silver model and 205 MB/s for the Gold model.

Both models are rated IP68, providing protection against water and dust, ensuring they can withstand harsh environments. Available in a range of storage capacities from 64 GB to 1 TB, the Armor cards are ideal for those looking for high-performance and reliable storage solutions. Additionally, Lexar introduced its Play series of microSDXC and microSD cards, specifically designed for portable gaming platforms, although these are housed in a traditional plastic casing.

However, the manufacturer has not yet disclosed the pricing or release dates for these products.
