Major Update for Helldivers 2 Adds Illuminates and Urban Maps

The developers of Helldivers 2 have finally unveiled a major update featuring the Illuminates, the game’s third enemy faction. The update, titled Omens of Tyranny, is now available across all platforms!

Omens of Tyranny introduces new enemies, urban maps, and an off-road vehicle. The new vehicle allows a team of up to four players to traverse maps more quickly.

According to the developers, the Illuminates will present a formidable challenge, requiring players to master the game’s mechanics. “We lean into the fact that the Illuminate are massive, massive beings with advanced technology, they're naturally going to be a more challenging foe to encounter,” said Johan Pilestedt in an interview with PC Gamer.

Helldivers 2 is available on PC and PS5.
