Battle Brothers
Battle Brothers is a turn based tactical RPG which has you leading a mercenary company in a gritty, low-power, medieval fantasy world. You decide where to go, whom to hire or to fight, what contracts to take and how to train and equip your men in a procedurally generated open world campaign. Do you have what it takes to lead them through bloody battles and to victory?
The game consists of a strategic worldmap and a tactical combat layer. On the worldmap you can freely travel in order to take contracts that earn you good coin, find places worth looting, enemies worth pursuing or towns to resupply and hire men at. This is also where you manage, level up and equip your Battle Brothers. Once you engage a hostile party the game will switch to a tactical map where the actual fighting takes place as detailed turn based combat.
- Manage a medieval mercenary company in a procedurally generated open world.
- Fight complex turn-based tactical battles with historical equipment and brutal injuries.
- Permadeath. All characters that die in combat will stay dead – unless they return as the undead.
- All characters come with their own background stories and traits. Want a stuttering ratcatcher, a greedy witch hunter or a drunkard disowned noble?
- Character development without a restrictive class-system. Each character gains experience through combat, can level up and acquire powerful perks.
- Equipment that matters. Different weapons grant unique skills – split shields with axes, stun enemies with maces, form a spearwall with spears or crush armor with a warhammer.
- Diverse enemy roster. All enemies have unique equipment, skills and AI behavior.
- A dynamic event system with atmospheric encounters and tough decisions outside of combat.
- Three late game crises – a war between noble houses, a greenskin invasion and an undead scourge – add a looming threat.
- Two full hours of orchestral soundtrack.
- 70 Steam Achievements and Steam Trading Cards.

Reviews and ratings
Battle Brothers is, in short, xcom in a medieval fantasy world. Connections with interest, uniforms, trade, orders and severed heads - that's all about this game. And now, in order.
Gameplay. Very well-developed mechanics (fighting with initiative, trading with dynamic prices), which looks very simple, but has quite a lot of interesting pitfalls. The upgraded characters are much stronger than the newly hired ones, the panic and environment system works. The only negative for the sake of difficulty is that the enemies are ALWAYS stronger in characteristics than your fighters, even if you have the same level and the same equipment. Just take it for granted.

Battle Brothers — это, если коротко, xcom в средневеково-фэнтезийном мире. Связи с процентами, обмундирование, торговля, заказы и отрубленные головы — это все про эту игру. А теперь по порядку.
Геймплей. Очень проработанная механика (бой с инициативой, торговля с динамическими ценами), которая выглядит очень просто, но имеет достаточно много интересных подводных камней. Прокачанные персонажи гораздо сильнее только что нанятых, система паники и окружения работает. Единственный минус ради сложности — враги ВСЕГДА сильнее по характеристикам, чем твои бойцы, даже если у вас один и тот же уровень и одно и то же снаряжение. Просто принять это как данность.
ИИ в игре крайне хорош, над этим разработчики очень сильно постарались. 9,5/10.

A turn-based RPG about a squad of mercenaries in a medieval world with elements of magic. Moreover, it’s a shame that only enemies can use magic))).
-Gameplay: top score. Everything is thought out, the barrier to entry is low, but mastery does not come immediately.
-The graphics are conditional, which, however, does not interfere.
- The translation is only a fan translation, slightly unfinished, which is a little upsetting, but you can play it.
-No plot - sandbox... This is the main drawback of this masterpiece game... I want some kind of plot... Otherwise it becomes boring. Yes, you must play without “transitions” - in the “iron will” mode, in order to feel the spirit of the game.
Пошаговая РПГ об отряде наёмников в средневековом мире с элементами магии. Причём магией, что обидно, могут только вражины пользоваться))).
-Геймплей: высший бал. Всё продумано, порог вхождения низкий, но мастерство приходит не сразу.
-Графика условная, что, впрочем не мешает.
- Перевод только фанатский, слегка недоделанный, что немного огорчает, но играть можно.
-Сюжета нет- песочница... Это главный недостаток этой шедевральной игры... Хочется какого- нибудь сюжета... А то скучно становится. Да, играть обязательно без "переходов" — в режиме "железная воля", чтобы почувствовать дух игры.
