Backstory of the unique vehicle:
The late 2000s were turbulent times for Romania. The country was preparing for the global economic crisis of 2008 and severed ties with the former Soviet state of Archana. In response, the Romanian government turned to the European Union for help in developing a light subsonic aircraft to defend against their nearest territorial threat. A European aircraft manufacturer proposed designing and testing the aircraft on Romanian soil to ensure quality. Thus, the Artheon 770X was born—a plane capable of reaching speeds of up to 770 km/h. As the slowest in the DSC jet engine lineup, the 770X shares design features with more expensive models.
Features:
- The 770X is essentially an invisible car with massive tires to overcome obstacles;
- The plane does not fly but hovers at a constant altitude above the ground;
- Two power sources:
Primary: Jet engine (maximum speed of 495 km/h); - Secondary: Liquid-fueled JATO engines (maximum speed);
- JATO control: In the "Controls" menu, find the "Vehicle Specific" tab and assign a key to toggle JATO (e.g., G);
- Activating JATO on water turns the 770X into a fast submarine (left/right controls are inverted).
Known issues:
- The body shakes slightly during turns at speeds above 100 km/h;
- The wheels wobble and are quite fragile.
Installation:
- Download the mod archive;
- Move the mod file to the path: C:\Users\UserNAME\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods.
