Modder Evelyn Schwab has released a new texture pack for Dark Souls Remastered, weighing almost 6 GB. The mod covers nearly all textures in the game and is perfect for those looking to replay one of the most challenging games in the world.
According to the author, they aimed to stay true to the spirit of the game and not alter the artistic style embedded in the textures. To enhance most materials, the modder used the ESRGAN neural network, but some had to be improved manually using third-party editors. As Evelyn Schwab assures, players who prefer high resolution will immediately notice how much sharper the visuals become.
To install the mod, a texture packer and unpacker DSR Texture Packer & Unpacker is required.
To install the texture pack, unpack the Map and Object/Character archives into the Texture Override folder of the DSR Texture Packer & Unpacker program. Run DSR-TPUP.exe, specify the game directory, and click the Repack button.
