The story unfolds in the HL universe. You play as the technical engineer of the 'Delta Base' complex, Nick Farrell. Unfortunately, the protagonist found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, as an experiment at the Black Mesa Research Facility triggered a resonance cascade that teleported extraterrestrial beings from the Zen world to Earth.
