Lifeline 2015 — In the game, players interact by choosing between two different responses to help the protagonist progress through the story. Taylor responds in real time, for example, after telling the player that they are going to sleep, it takes a certain amount of time to respond. Taylor takes time to complete tasks, and the player has to wait for their response, seeing only the text: [Taylor is busy]. Some decisions require searching for more information, and if the player makes the wrong decision, it could result in Taylor's death. If Taylor dies, the player can return to the previous decision and try again. Completing the game before any ending (such as death) unlocks Quick Mode, which eliminates the wait time between messages.
