SHADOWGUN — players use virtual touchscreen controls. Moving is done with the analog stick on the left side of the screen, and the command buttons on the right side of the screen are responsible for shooting or interacting with the environment. The main element of the game's gameplay is the cover system, which allows you to hide behind walls or barriers to avoid enemy fire, as well as return fire from cover.

The game takes place in 2350, intergalactic corporations exist outside the control of governments. Corporations attack distant planets and take resources, ignoring the planetary laws of the Federation. The most powerful corporation is Toltech Enterprises, which controls 75% of the resources of the entire galaxy. Bounty hunters and mercenaries work for both corporations and planetary governments, working for greater pay regardless of mission objectives. The best mercenaries are known under the pseudonym Shadowgun.
