Untrusted is an adventure text quest with puzzle and co-op elements. In this game, hackers from the fictional group NETSEC are tasked with hacking a specific server on a computer network. NETSEC members must use their skills and wits to outwit the secret AGENTS who will try to make arrests or force other players to become informers every night.
The game ends once the NETSEC group gains root access to the target node (meaning they have completed the hacking operation) or when all NETSEC AGENTS or members have been kicked out of the game. However, if the NETSEC Operations Leader grants root access to a member of the AGENT, the game is instantly over.
Role-playing, deception and deduction are key aspects of the game, which currently features 23 playable classes with over 80 unique skills, with two factions and neutral classes that can overthrow the game by joining either faction.
