Media: Embracer closed the creators of the Gothic and Elex game series
The Piranha Bytes studio, known to many for such game series as Gothic, Risen and Elex, was closed due to lack of funding. The developers shared with CD Action the latest photos in the studio office.
According to CD Action, before the closure, the studio developers were going to start working on a new game. The project in the dark fantasy genre was supposed to be created on the Unreal Engine 5. Work on the graphic component had already begun in the fall, but the studio did not have time to complete the developments.
Representatives of Piranha Bytes and Embracer have not yet officially confirmed the closure information.
By the way, according to GameStar, former creative director of Piranha Bytes Björn Pankratz and his wife Jennifer announced the creation of their own studio — Pithead Studio. The new company will focus on creating RPG games.
