Chinese scientists named a new species of crab after a League of Legends character
There is also a place for games in the world of science—the other day, Chinese scientists discovered a new species of crab, which they named after a character from League of Legends. All because of the «fluffy» appearance.
A new species was found in the coral reefs of the South China Sea. The crab's shell was covered with a kind of «fur coat» of thick short bristles with camouflage coloring in the form of brown stripes. Scientists decided to dub him Gothus teemo, by analogy with Teemo, a furry character from the heroic MOBA, who is also known for his stealth abilities.
By the way, this is the first time that a new species of animal was named after a hero from League of Legends.
Let us remind you that in the spring of this year League of Legends acquired its own anti-cheat. And also the first excerpt from the new season of the show based on the game appeared.
