Concord Turned Out to Be More Expensive Than Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and God of War: Ragnarok
It seems that the total failure of the heroic shooter Concord from Firewalk Studios turned out to be an even bigger disaster. According to former IGN editor Colin Moriarty, the game's development cost a phenomenal $400 million.
In the end, Concord's development cost about $400 million. For comparison, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 had a budget of $315 million, and God of War: Ragnarok cost about $200 million.
It should be noted that Sony's contribution to the above amount was approximately half — at the time of its purchase, the Firewalk studio had a development budget of 200 million dollars.
Recall that Concord lasted only two weeks after its release, as its online did not exceed even a thousand players, and sales amounted to only 25 thousand copies. Sony decided to shut down the game servers and return the money spent to gamers. The other day it became known about the dismissal of Concord game director Ryan Ellis: the fate of Firewalk Studios itself remains in limbo.
