Batman: Arkham Shadow creators showed the Lord of the Rings star as one of the villains
The creators of the VR action game Batman: Arkham Shadow held a new Q&A session, where they answered questions from players. Among other things, they revealed the participation of the Lord of the Rings star in the cast — he not only voiced, but also played one of the antagonists.
Elijah Wood, known for his role as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson's trilogy, gave his voice to one of Batman's opponents — Scarecrow. The actor also took part in motion capture for cut scenes. The performer admitted that this was his first such experience. You can watch Elijah Wood's performance behind the scenes of Batman: Arkham Shadow at the time code 5:45.
In addition, the developers shared some details of the project. The game will feature some pretty brutal interrogation scenes typical of the Arkham series, the «detective mode» will return, and new collectibles will be implemented, including patient records. Players will also see some «new elements» of gameplay and an unexpected plot twist. The project itself, according to the creators, is more focused on Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Batman: Arkham Shadow will be released on October 22 exclusively for Meta Quest 3. The game will not have paid DLC, but the developers are ready to take into account the wishes of gamers and add new content or features.
