Ubisoft addresses another historical inaccuracy in Assassin's Creed: Shadows

Earlier this summer, Assassin's Creed: Shadows faced heavy criticism for historical inaccuracies. A group of Japanese reenactors noticed their flag was mysteriously included in one of the game's concept arts. Ubisoft apologized to the experts, stating that while they wouldn't remove the image from the art book, they acknowledged the mistake. However, this week, the company reversed that decision.

According to one of the reenactors, Ubisoft contacted him to inform him that the flag would be fully removed from the art book. The historian was shown an updated image with the symbols darkened out.

Interestingly, this change happened on the same day Ubisoft announced an updated Assassin's Creed: Shadows collector's edition. It will be priced $50 lower but will no longer include early access, and the art book will have eight fewer pages.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows is set to release on February 14 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. Earlier, figurine maker PureArts also announced they would revise their controversial statue featuring Yasuke and Naoe.
