YouTube user Endymion, who previously spoke about the difficult situation inside the CD Projekt RED studio, this time decided to talk about the situation around the development of the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. According to him, Sucker Punch was allegedly developing a full-fledged sequel about Jin Sakai, but then remade it into Ghost of Yotei with a new hero.
The blogger again referred to internal sources in the studio, so his theses sound unfounded for now. He claims that Ghost of Tsushima 2 was indeed in development with Jin Sakai as the main character. The warrior was supposed to visit Mount Yotei and face the Mongol threat there. However, over the past two years, the studio changed the original concept, starting the development of Ghost of Yotei about a woman named Atsu.
Endymion linked the changes to the hiring of some new employees at Sucker Punch in the late stages of development. In addition, Sony was allegedly not happy with such a sharp change of course. For this reason, the publisher may consider Ghost of Yotei as a spin-off, rather than a sequel, in order to keep Jin Sakai as the main protagonist.
The release of the new part of the samurai action will take place in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
Recall that earlier, Endymion's words were criticized by CD Projekt RED, accusing the blogger of inaccuracy. Meanwhile, the developers of Ghost of Yotei recently revealed what problems of the original will be eliminated in the sequel.
