Sony has published its latest financial report with results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025, covering the period through the end of September.

PlayStation has released the October download rankings for the Japanese PS Store, covering four categories — PS5, PS4, PS VR2, and free-to-play titles. Among the month’s many notable releases, the top spot on PS5 went to Ghost of Yotei, the new historical action game from the creators of Ghost of Tsushima.

According to Circana (formerly NPD Group), Sucker Punch’s new title Ghost of Yotei achieved nearly identical U.S. sales figures to Ghost of Tsushima — despite being available for only three days, from August 31 to October 4.

Sony’s only exclusive of the year, Ghost of Yotei, is performing remarkably well. Despite early skepticism, the sequel sold over one million copies in just one day, breaking the original Ghost of Tsushima’s launch record.

In an interview with Game Reactor, the actor admitted he was initially surprised but now considers it “the right and thoughtful move.”

According to data from The Game Business, Ghost of Yotei debuted at No. 2 in the latest European GSD charts, trailing only EA Sports FC 26, which held the top spot for the third consecutive week.
