Freebie: GOG offers free download of 1993's Return of the Phantom

PC gamers have another freebie to snag. This time, it's the old-school adventure game Return of the Phantom, originally released in 1993. The game's storyline was crafted with the help of writer Raymond Benson, who is known to gamers for his novels based on Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

The free giveaway of Return of the Phantom is happening on GOG and will be available until November 3.

Return of the Phantom is a point-and-click adventure game based on Gaston Leroux's gothic novel The Phantom of the Opera.

The story follows Inspector Raoul Montand as he strives to stop the Red Death and prevent a tragedy at the Paris Opera House.
