The new version of the Steam client will not work on Windows 7 and 8

Press F: the Valve team reported that the updated Steam client will not run on Windows 7 and 8. Let us remind you that official support for the service on older versions of the OS ended earlier this year.

Despite these statements, for some time the service worked quite successfully on outdated Windows, but the recent update ended an era. The latest report from the Steam team indicates that the new version of the launcher will not work on Windows 7 and 8. Automatic updating will also not work, so the only correct solution will be to switch to Windows 10 and later versions of the OS. In addition, the updated Steam client will not work on macOS 10.13 and 10.14.

Earlier, a new security system appeared in the Valve service, designed to protect accounts from being hacked by fraudsters.
