Hidetaka Miyazaki States Elden Ring 2 Is Not Currently in Development
At the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia ceremony, FromSoftware President and Representative Director Hidetaka Miyazaki announced that the studio is not currently planning to begin development on Elden Ring 2. However, he did not rule out the possibility of releasing a sequel in the future.
Additionally, the developer mentioned that FromSoftware is currently working on several projects across different genres, with some being led by Hidetaka Miyazaki himself.
Earlier this year, FromSoftware released the major expansion Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, which received 70% positive reviews on Steam.
Interestingly, a rumor surfaced in November suggesting that Sony might acquire FromSoftware in the foreseeable future. The studio is best known for its hardcore game series.
