Naughty Dog Artist Shows Off His Version Of Stellar Blade's Eve, Faces Backlash
Studios periodically celebrate the successes of their industry peers by sharing art of characters from third-party projects. One of Naughty Dog's developers showed his vision of Eve for the official Stellar Blade account, but fans did not appreciate it.
Character designer Nam Hyoung Taek, who worked on The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, shared a concept of Eve in a fighting pose against the backdrop of a defeated robot. His work was posted on social media by the Stellar Blade account, but players were critical of the result. Many commentators called the heroine's face typically male, and the art frankly unsuccessful.
Not all users agreed with the criticism. Some, on the contrary, praised the dynamism of the drawing and advised not to compare the stylized art with the realistic appearance of Eva from Stellar Blade.
Recall that Naughty Dog recently presented a trailer for its new sci-fi action game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Players did not appreciate the heroine's design and drowned the trailer in dislikes, and the actress who played her published a provocative art with Ciri from The Witcher 4 in response.
