Today, the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released — a remake of the original 1997 JRPG and a direct sequel to VII Remake. Since the game did not have Denuvo protection, it was hacked in a matter of hours.
The game was a PS5 exclusive for a little less than a year — the remake was released on the Sony console on February 29, 2024. On Steam, the project collects mostly positive reviews. At the time of writing, their number exceeded 100, and the rating was close to 83%. They mainly praise the optimization, image quality, and FPS compared to the PlayStation 5 version. In addition, the game has improved graphics and expanded options for customizing them, fixed lighting issues, added support for DualSense and NVIDIA DLSS, and the ability to change the number of NPCs in a location.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is currently on sale on Steam for 30% off for $49. The promotion will last until February 5.
Recall that Square Enix is actively removing Denuvo protection from its games. For example, it was recently removed from the Steam version of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince just a month after its release.
