Battlefield 6 Devs Reveal New Artwork and Share Playtest Details

Electronic Arts has begun releasing development updates for the next Battlefield game. In the first report, the team discussed their approach to gunplay and movement.
Developers are looking to refine Battlefield’s combat by bringing back the best elements from previous games. Their main goal is to make the shooter both intuitive and rewarding for skilled players.
During the first playtest, the team reduced input latency and revamped the recoil system—now, each weapon will have a distinct feel, and recoil patterns will be more predictable. The game’s servers will run at a 60 Hz tick rate, which, according to the developers, will ensure more precise hit registration and player positioning.
As for movement mechanics, the game brings back features like crouch sprinting and rolls while also improving existing animations.
Playtesting is currently taking place behind closed doors, and the game remains in its pre-alpha stage. Developers promise to share more details in the coming weeks.
