During the playthrough of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, players are faced with decisions that in one way or another affect future events. In the quest «Broadcast», you will have to make a choice that can significantly turn the plot. In this guide, we will tell you who to give the broadcast tower to and what consequences you will face if you choose Jack Matt, Juan, or Frank.
In previous chapters, you had to choose a path: to help Jack Matt with his plan to use the broadcast tower for the Peacekeepers or to assist Juan in spying on Jack. It is between them that you will have to choose. Everything becomes not so simple when Frank appears on the list, making the choice not so obvious, and its consequences quite serious.
«Broadcast» is one of the major quests of the main storyline in Dying Light 2, at the end of which you will have to make an important decision: who to hand over control of the broadcast tower to. Overall, you will have to choose between the peacekeepers and the survivors, which will affect the story over time and closer to the end of the game. The following text may contain spoilers for the endings of Dying Light 2.
It's worth noting that Juan will only appear as an option if you agreed to cooperate with him in the quest «Welcome Aboard». In short, if you side with Juan, you can hand over control of the broadcast tower to either Juan or Frank. However, if you previously decided to help Jack, you can transfer control to either him or Frank, but not to Juan.
After lengthy preparations, you will begin your ascent to the broadcast tower, which you entered together with a squad of peacekeepers. Eventually, Aiden will have to climb the tower and look for the transmitter on his own. Along the way, you will receive advice from Frank on how to reach the top of the tower.
When you are almost at the goal and start thinking about who to give the broadcast tower to, Frank will contact you via radio. He will try to convince you to hand over control to him, as he wants to organize a radio station for the survivors. Thus, your previous agreement with Jack or Juan will be at risk. Now it's time to decide who should get the broadcast tower: Jack Matt, Juan, or Frank.
Jack can only be chosen if you previously decided to help him during the conversation with Juan in the quest «Welcome Aboard». If you give the transmitter to Jack, the Peacekeepers will immediately take over the radio station, and their propaganda will spread throughout the city. Later, you will have to help Jack boost the signal by activating additional antennas. Ultimately, this leads to finding a key character for further plot development. Towards the end of the game, when bombs are about to fall on the city, the Peacekeepers will not use the broadcast tower to warn the population about the impending threat. This will result in the death of a large number of people.
This choice is available only if you previously agreed to help Juan spy on Jack Matt during the quest «Welcome Aboard». Later, you will meet a former scientist named Kurt, who will give you a bug to use during the quest «The Cathedral».
If you give the transmitter to Juan, in essence, you hand over the broadcast tower to the Peacekeepers and Jack Matt, but with Juan's bug. As with Jack, after giving the tower to Juan, none of the Peacekeepers will warn the inhabitants about the missile strike, and people will die. However, if after giving the tower to Juan you decide to save the city, it will end up in the hands of the renegades.
Giving control to Frank is possible regardless of decisions in previous quests. If you listen to Frank and give the broadcast tower to him, he will be able to create a radio for the survivors — «Radio New Hope». After that, you will have a task to boost the signal using additional antennas. Later, Frank uses the radio he created to warn the survivors about the impending missile strike, allowing them to evacuate people and suffer minimal casualties.
If you save the city at the end of the game, it will belong to the survivors.
