This guide will explore the dilemma faced by players: whether to lend Sven money or to invest in purchasing the ornate box for him. Additionally, we will detail the rewards available upon the successful completion of this mission, providing insight into the outcomes of each choice and their implications for your journey.
The quest begins when you return to the central square of Vernworth a few days after arrival. Approach a merchant named Oriol (he might also offer you a discount if you've completed the side quest «Medicinal Matters») and watch the scene with the boy in the hat.
The youngster's name is Sven, and he will be waiting for you next to the merchant. You can immediately turn to Oriol and purchase the ornate box for 800 gold, then hand it over to the boy. Of course, you could have given him the item as a gift, but Sven insists on compensating for the expenses.
The next day, the quest will update, and Sven will be waiting for you by the fountain in the central square. He won't return the money but will give you a precious stone worth 800 gold.
However, the quest doesn't end there. The quest will remain active for three consecutive days, with the boy sharing new valuable items. On the third day, he will give you a teleportation stone—a very rare and useful item. Be sure to take it.
Additionally, later on, near Mildred's house, you will be able to find a note from Sven and a gift in the form of a bottle of wine.
