Vampire Survivors is a pixelated top-down shooter where you are tasked with annihilating hordes of zombies, werewolves, and other unholy creatures. In this guide, we will discuss the most useful weapons and support items that should be unlocked first.

The game features a variety of weaponry. In the early stages of gameplay, it might be difficult to discern the effectiveness of weapons and skills, but the game almost immediately throws crowds of enemies at you.

Weapons in Vampire Survivors

King Bible

It is especially effective when enemies surround you from all sides. The Bible operates at close range but attacks simultaneously in all directions. Similarly, Garlic works, which we will discuss below, but it is only useful in the early stages of the game due to the limited number of available upgrades. However, the King Bible can receive far more upgrades, making it an effective weapon until the end of the game, at least against regular enemies.

Fire Wand

This weapon shoots fireballs. They move slowly and attack random enemies, but deal high damage, especially after upgrades. Such a wand can be used not only against ordinary enemies but also during boss fights. Damage and projectile flight speed can be increased with the help of support items, which we will talk about in the next section.

Axe

A worthy alternative to the Fire Wand. If you couldn't find the Fire Wand, the Axe can be used. After upgrading, it deals decent damage, making it effective against bosses even at high levels of upgrades.

Whip

This is the starting weapon of Antonio Belpaese, which can be offered from the beginning of the game. It delivers horizontal strikes that pass through enemies and damage all opponents in its path. As it is upgraded, not only the attack power but also the area of effect of the whip increases. Arcanas give the opportunity to increase the chance of critical damage.

Magic Wand

The standard weapon of Imelda Belpaese. Like the whip, it can be chosen from the start. The weapon shoots a blue clump of magic at the nearest enemy. Each of them is capable of hitting only one enemy and cannot pass through walls. Arcanas will allow projectiles to bounce off enemies and give them the ability to freeze them with a certain chance.

Knife

The basic weapon of Gennaro Belpaese, available from the very beginning of the game. The knives will fly in the direction of the main character's movement. If he turns around, the weapon will continue to operate in the previous direction for some time before adjusting to the new one. When playing with a mouse or gamepad, you can choose their flight direction. The knives are released in groups, but each can only hit one enemy. They do not fly through walls. However, if you equip Arcanas, the knives will bounce off enemies, pierce through obstacles, and also deal critical damage.

Cross

The starting weapon of Krochi Freetto. You can get it if you find a Rosary. They have a certain chance of dropping from light sources after your character reaches level 8 in running. The Cross attacks the nearest enemy, then returns and flies beyond the visible area. Along the way, it attacks anyone it touches. Arcanas can make the Cross bounce off the screen edge twice.

Garlic

The basic weapon of Poe Ratcho. You receive it after eating five Floor Chickens. They drop from light sources with a small chance. The Garlic attack is an aura consisting of three circles that follow the main character and damage anyone entering their area of effect. The number of circles can be increased with the help of Arcanas.

Holy Water

The starting weapon of Suor Clerici, can be chosen at the very beginning of the game. Bottles are thrown at enemies, falling to the ground and leaving puddles. They damage enemies. As the weapon is upgraded, the area of effect of Holy Water will increase.

Runetracer

The weapon with which Pasqualina Belpaese starts the game. If you last with this heroine for 5 minutes, other characters can use it too. The Runetracer attacks in a straight line and can hit multiple enemies at once. Arcanas give you a chance to freeze an enemy upon impact.

Lightning Ring

The basic weapon of Porta Ladonna. To unlock it, you need to kill 5000 enemies. All runs are counted. This ring strikes enemies with lightning, damaging random enemies within sight.

Pentagram

To get this weapon, survive in the arena for 20 minutes. The Pentagram erases all enemies in sight once per minute. However, experience and chests will not drop. As the weapon develops, you'll have a chance not to remove items during the attack. Note that the Pentagram cannot evolve. Arcanas allow placing several zones of instant enemy destruction.

Peachone

The starting weapon for Toastie. To unlock it, you need to survive for 10 minutes. When activated, a bird will start circling clockwise around the main character, attacking all enemies in its path. With the help of arcanes, you can launch a twin Peachone with the same abilities.

Ebony Wings

The basic weapon for Exdash Exiviiq. It can be unlocked by leveling Peachone to level 7. The action principles of both birds are similar—they fly around the main character and damage enemies. Arcanes allow launching two birds at once.

Phiera Der Tuphello

A weapon available to Pugnala Provola from the start. If you survive with this character for 10 minutes, you can use these guns while playing as other characters. They fire four shots in preset directions. A bullet can hit only one enemy and does not pass through obstacles. With the help of arcanes, bullets will bounce off enemies and pierce through them.

Eight The Sparrow

Another starting weapon for Pugnala Provola. To unlock it, select this character, enter the arena, and survive for 15 minutes. In terms of action, this gun is similar to Phiera Der Tuphello, but arcanes allow Eight The Sparrow to freeze enemies.

Gatti Amari

The starting weapon for Giovanna Grana. If you last 15 minutes while playing as her, you can unlock the cats for other characters. This weapon is quite unusual—when used, fluffy cats appear on the battlefield, constantly changing their movement trajectory and attacking enemies in their path. They can also injure the player. If two cats meet each other, they will start fighting. Additionally, the felines can interact with items in the arena. For instance, thanks to a chicken, their attack will increase, and the Orologion will freeze the fluffy cat. With arcanes, the number of cats can be increased.

Song of Mana

The basic weapon for Poppea Pecorina. If you survive in the arena as her for 15 minutes, you can unlock this item for other characters. Song of Mana launches a wave of magical particles that follow the main character and damage enemies.

Shadow Pinion

The starting weapon for Concetta Caciotta. You can use it with other characters if you can survive for 15 minutes playing as this girl. It consists of drills that by default fly in the direction of the main character's gaze. The movement trajectory can be set using a gamepad or mouse. If the character moves, the drills are launched quickly. If you stop, it will start charging, then launch and deal increased damage.

Victory Sword

The starting weapon for Queen Sigma. To unlock it, you need to kill 100,000 enemies in a single session while playing as this character. This sword strikes the nearest enemies and retaliates against those who have injured your character. At level 8, the weapon gains critical attacks, which can be enhanced with arcanes.

Flames of Misspell

The basic weapon for Avatar Infernas. It attacks enemies with fireballs that follow the player's direction.

Vento Sacro The starting weapon for Zi'Assunta Belpaese. If you survive in the arena for 15 minutes as this character, you can use Vento Sacro when playing as other heroes. It delivers several horizontal strikes in the direction of the player's gaze. Moving continuously will increase the damage.

Bone The starting weapon for Mortaccio. After unlocking the character, you have a small chance to get Bone for other characters. You can also purchase it for 1000 coins. It flies in a random direction in a straight line, bounces off enemies and walls. With an arcane equipped, Bone will explode.

Bracelet The basic weapon for Gyorunton. You unlock it if you survive in the arena for 30 minutes as Divano Thelma or Iguana Gallo. Bracelet fires projectiles at random enemies in the location. With arcanes, you get a 25% chance to freeze the enemy.

Cherry Bomb The standard weapon for Yatta Cavallo. Upon unlocking this character, you have a chance to unlock Cherry Bomb. You can also purchase it from a vendor for 1000 coins. It targets the nearest enemy, deals damage, then bounces off enemies and walls. There's a 40% chance the bomb will explode.

Carrello The starting weapon for Bianca Ramba. Once you gain access to this hero, you have a chance to unlock this weapon. If not, it can be purchased for 1000 coins. Carrello is a cart that bounces off enemies and walls, then explodes. Enemies take damage from both the detonation and the shrapnel that scatters across the arena.

Celestial Dusting. Basic weapon of O'Sole Meeo. If you unlock this character, you have a chance to unlock Celestial Dusting. It can also be purchased from a merchant for 1000 coins. This weapon attacks enemies with flowers that fly in the opposite direction of your hero's movement. They bounce off walls and pierce through enemies. If you stand still, the flowers will appear but not move.

La Robba. Initial weapon of Sir Ambrojoe. When you unlock it, there's a chance to get La Robba for free. If not, you can buy it for 1000 coins. It attacks enemies with pieces of furniture that fly from the top of the screen and bounce off enemies.

DLC Weapons

  • Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Moonspell;
  • Vampire Survivors: Tides of the Foscari.

Support Items in Vampire Survivors

Spinach

The best support item available in the game. It increases damage dealt by 10% with each new level. This significantly boosts attack power, especially after upgrades.

Initially, this feature might not seem useful, as all enemies die from one hit anyway. However, as you progress to the mid-game, you'll encounter monsters with good defense, making the attack increase a very beneficial upgrade. Spinach is indispensable in boss fights.

Empty Tome

Increases the flight speed of all projectiles by 8% per level. This is particularly useful for slow, but powerful weapons. For example, with the Fire Wand.

Armor. An item available from the start of the game. It reduces incoming damage by 1 unit. As you level up the armor, it will more effectively absorb enemy attacks. However, it cannot completely protect you — damage from enemy strikes cannot be reduced to less than 1 unit.

Hollow Heart. To get it, survive 1 minute in the arena playing as any character. This item increases the health bar by 20% per level. Thus, a fully upgraded Hollow Heart increases life force by 2.5 times.

Laurel. Basic item of Divano Thelma. It is available to players from the beginning of the game. Laurel creates a shield that reduces incoming damage. Upon activation, it makes the main hero invulnerable for a short moment. When an arcana is equipped, this item will attack enemies.

Pummarola. To unlock this item, you need to survive on the location for 5 minutes while playing as Gennaro Belpaese. It restores 0.2 health units per second for each level. At maximum upgrade, Pummarola will regenerate 1 life point per second.

Candybox. A standard item for Big Trouser. You can obtain it by unlocking the standard weapon evolution or purchasing it from a merchant for 1000 coins while playing as Queen Sigma. Candybox allows you to unlock any weapon you have already unlocked, enabling you to have more than 6 standard types of weapons.

Clover. This flower can be obtained from light sources that randomly appear on locations. Each of the five levels of Clover increases your luck by 10%. Thus, at maximum upgrade, you will be 1.5 times luckier.

Crown. Unlocked after reaching level 10 while playing as any character. Crown increases the experience gained by 8% for each level of this item's development. The maximum possible experience gain is 40%.

Candelabrador. This item increases the attack area by 10% per level. It is unlocked after you get Saint Water to level 4. At maximum upgrade, Candelabrador increases the area of your attacks by 50%.

Bracer. You will receive this item after reaching level 4 of King Bible. It increases the flight speed of projectiles by 10% per level. If you upgrade Bracer to the maximum, your attacks will be 50% faster.

Duplicator. You will receive this tool if you upgrade Magic Wand to level 7. Duplicator allows you to fire 1 additional projectile. However, it can only be developed to the second level, so the number of projectiles can be increased by a maximum of two.

Wings. You will receive this item when you reach level 5 with any character. With its help, your speed will increase by 10% for each level. At maximum upgrade, you will move 50% faster than without Wings.

Attractorb. It can be found on the Dairy Plant and Moongolow levels. This tool allows you to pick up items from a greater distance. At level 1, the distance from which you can pick up something increases by 1.5 times, at the maximum level 5 — by 4 times.

After you get into the Inlaid Library, the mask increases the gold you collect during arena runs by 10% for each level. At maximum upgrade, you will collect 1.5 times more coins.

Tiragisu. This item becomes available after you survive for 20 minutes as Krochi Freetto. It allows you to resurrect on the battlefield after death with 50% health. At the maximum level of 2, you can come back to life twice.

Skull O'Maniac. Unlocks if you manage to survive as Lama Ladonna. Each level of the skull increases the hero's curse by 10%. The maximum value is 50%. The curse parameter determines the speed, health, number, and spawn rate of your enemies.

Silver Ring. Becomes available after you find the Yellow Sign at the Holy Forbidden location. This ring increases the area of effect and duration of attacks by 5% per level. The item can be upgraded to level 9, so the maximum bonus is 40%.

Gold Ring. You unlock it after finding the Yellow Sign. Its functionality is similar to Skull O'Maniac. It increases curse by 5% per level, up to a maximum of 40%.

Metaglio Left. Another item that unlocks after obtaining the Yellow Sign. It increases health by 5% and its regeneration rate by 0.1 per second. The medal can be upgraded to level 9. In this case, you receive a life force bonus of 47.7%, and the regeneration increases by 0.8 health points per second.

Metaglio Right. Becomes available after you find the Yellow Sign. It is a complete analogue of the Gold Ring — increases curse by 5% per level.

Torrona's Box. This item unlocks if you simultaneously have 6 types of weapons obtained through evolution. At level 1, the power of your projectiles, their speed, area of effect, and duration will be increased by 4%. Each subsequent level increases this parameter by 3%. There are a total of nine levels, so the maximum bonus value is 25%. Additionally, with each level, the curse value increases by 10% until it reaches 100%.

How to Upgrade Weapons. How Evolution Works in Vampire Survivors

First, you need to make sure that the selected weapon can be upgraded at all. Upgrades are available for the following weapons:

  • Axe;
  • Cross;
  • Fire Wand;
  • Garlic;
  • King Bible;
  • Knife;
  • Magic Wand;
  • Whip;
  • Santa Water;
  • Lightning Ring;
  • Song of Mana;
  • Pentagram;
  • Runetracer;
  • Ebony Wings;
  • Peachone;
  • Eight the Sparrow;
  • Phiera Der Tuphello;
  • Flames of Misspell;
  • Gatti Amari;
  • Clock Lancet;
  • Laurel;
  • Shadow Pinion.

The first 18 types of weapons are upgraded following the same scheme, while the last four have a special mechanic, which we have detailed below.

How to Upgrade the Axe, Cross, Fire Wand, Garlic, King Bible, Knife, Magic Wand, Song of Mana, Pentagram, Runetracer, and Whip

For upgrading, you will need Experience Gems. These drop from defeated enemies. As your hero's level increases, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your weapon. You need to reach level eight and find a specific item. Each weapon has its own.

Combinations of weapons and support items:

  • Bloody Tear: Whip level 8 + Hollow Heart;
  • Death Spiral: Axe level 8 + Candelabrador;
  • Heaven Sword: Cross level 8 + Clover;
  • Hellfire: Fire Wand level 8 + Spinach;
  • Holy Wand: Magic Wand level 8 + Empty Tome;
  • Soul Eater: Garlic level 8 + Pummarola;
  • Thousand Edge: Knife level 8 + Bracer;
  • Unholy Vespers: King Bible level 8 + Spellbinder;
  • La Borra: Santa Water level 8 + Attractorb;
  • Thunder Loop: Lightning Ring level 8 + Duplicator;
  • Manajja: Song of Mana level 8 + Skull O'Maniac;
  • Gorgeous Moon: Pentagram level 8 + Crown;
  • No Future: Runetracer level 8 + Armor.
  • Vicious Hunger: Gatti Amari level 8 + Stone Mask.
  • Valkyrie Turner: Shadow Pinion level 8 + Wings.
  • Infinite Corridor: Clock Lancet + Silver Ring + Gold Ring.
  • Crimson Shroud: Laurel level 8 + Metaglio Left + Metaglio Right.
  • Ashes of Muspell: Flames of Misspell level 8 + Torrona's Box.

Once you've upgraded your weapon to level 8 and found the necessary support item, participate in the challenge. You must survive 10 minutes of continuous attacks by regular monsters. Then a boss will appear, which you need to kill with the weapon you plan to upgrade. After its defeat, a chest will appear with the upgraded version.

However, there are a number of exceptions to this rule:

  • On the Mad Forest map, the required chest may drop from a glowing bat that appears in the first minutes.
  • All chests on the Il Molise and Dairy Plant maps can evolve weapons regardless of time.
  • In chests with Arcanes, which appear at the 11th and 21st minutes of the normal battle stage, items capable of evolving weapons never appear.

When you pick up a new weapon, its standard version will disappear, but the support item will remain.

How to Create Vandalier and Phieraggi

To obtain a weapon named Vandalier, you will need Ebony Wings and Peachone. The latter will be unlocked if you survive for 10 minutes of real time. You need to level up both weapons to level 8. After that, you need to get a chest with the upgrade. There, you will find Vandalier.

Phieraggi is crafted similarly. You need a weapon named Eight the Sparrow at level 8, the Phiera Der Tuphello pistol at level 8, and the support item Tiragisú.
