In Red Dead Redemption 2, you can find several Gold Bars that will help you get rich quickly. The bars are well hidden, so let's take a closer look at where to find them. Each bar will bring in $500, and you can get a total of $7000.
In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are 4 treasure hunts. This guide shows all locations and treasure maps. To achieve 100% game completion, only 3 treasure hunts are required.
One treasure hunt, called Les Trésor Des Morts, is only available if you pre-ordered or purchased the special edition of RDR2. If you have this bonus mission, you can skip one of the other treasures.
The peculiarity is that you always need to follow a series of three clues before you find the real treasure. One map will lead to the next, and the fourth place you visit will have the reward.
The walkthrough for the mission is described in a separate guide. The reward is two Gold Bars ($1000).
Where to get: As soon as Chapter 2 begins, you must pick up the starting map to get the first clue.
Reward: 4 Gold Bars (can be sold for $2000).
Start: In Cairn Lodge in Cairn Lage in the snowy region of the northwest part of the map. In a drawer under the bed, next to the door.
The Poisonous Trail Map 1: Halfway up the hill, on the ground, there is a broken tree, and another dead tree is still standing. The treasure map is in it.
The Poisonous Trail Map 2: At the top of the hill, there is a rock formation. In the very middle, there is a hole in which the treasure map is placed.
The Poisonous Trail Map 3: Located in a cave behind the waterfall in Elysian Pool. With a lantern, go through the cave. Stick to the right wall. On the right, there is a small tunnel. Go through it and find a series of hidden tunnels. At the very end of one of them is the treasure.
This is the last treasure. The reward is 4 Gold Bars. Sell them for $2000 or donate them to your camp.
Where to get: Chapter 3, after completing the mission The New South.
Reward: 3 Gold Bars (can be sold for $1500).
Start: from a random treasure hunter who gets marked when you approach him. He can appear in different areas, randomly. The possible locations of his appearance are marked on the map below.
You need a lasso to tie him up. He drops his map, and you can pick it up. If you haven't got the map after three encounters with him, you can buy it from a fence.
High Stakes Treasure Map 1: Behind the waterfall at Cumberland Falls. Approach the wooden log on the right side of the waterfall.
High Stakes Treasure Map 2: At Barrow Lagoon, climb a small hill and find a stump stuck between two rocks. The treasure is inside it.
High Stakes Treasure Map 3: At Bacchus Station, descend from the mountain side to the lower rocks above the river (descend from platform to platform). You can find the treasure hidden in a rock.
You get 3 Gold Bars worth $1500.

Reward: 5 Gold Bars (can be sold for $2500).
Le Tresor Des Morts Map 1: Find a few burned houses. Go inside one building that is not burned down and find the map next to a dead body.
Le Tresor Des Morts Map 2: In Saint Denis, there is an underground passage under one of the buildings (entrance shown in the screenshot). In the underground passage, the treasure map is in the wall, next to a wooden crate.

Here you will find 5 Gold Bars worth $2500.
During the Chapter 2 story mission Money Lending and Other Sins, you can track down a debtor named Chick Matthews. He gives you a treasure map. You can take it to get $35 in the camp and complete this optional mission.
