In the horror game The Casting of Frank Stone, there is a way to save all the characters and get the best possible ending. During the playthrough, there are several key moments that decide whether certain characters live or die. The ending where everyone survives is actually quite easy to achieve, but you still need to be cautious with a few key moments. Here's how to make the right choices to ensure everyone lives until dawn.

How to Get the Entity Displeased Achievement

If everyone survives the night in The Casting of Frank Stone, you will receive the Entity Displeased trophy and be rewarded with the best possible ending. To achieve this, every character from the 80s must survive (Jaime, Chris, Linda, Robert, and Sam), and everyone except one character from 2024 must survive (Madison, Linda, and Sam).

At the end of The Casting of Frank Stone, there is one mandatory death, but it does not count towards the best ending. Without revealing too many secrets, Frank Stone kills someone when he appears in the final chapter, and there is no way to avoid this. However, you will still get the achievement even if this person is dead.

How to Save All Characters

This guide will show you the key decisions you need to make in each chapter of The Casting of Frank Stone to ensure every character survives. As a general rule, do not fail any QTE scenes or skill checks unless this guide specifically states that you should do so. There are some inevitable deaths in this game, but they do not count towards the Entity Displeased achievement.

Chapter 1

In the first chapter of the game, you play as Sam. Sam cannot die in the first chapter, but failing a skill check will result in injuries that will make the game much harder later on and could potentially lead to Sam's death. To ensure his survival, just make sure you pass every skill check and QTE in this chapter.

Chapter 2

In the second chapter, you are introduced to Madison and the other participants from 2024. Nobody can die here. The main branching point of this chapter is the decision to pick up or overtake a hitchhiker, who turns out to be Linda, but neither choice affects anything other than the relationship between Madi and Linda. To get the everyone survives ending, you don't need to do anything special in the second chapter.

Chapter 3

No one can die in the third chapter, but there are a few important decisions that can have future consequences. If you go to the antique shop before the pharmacy, Chris can get a pocket mirror from the old lady running the shop.

This mirror turns out to be cursed and can kill Chris in the final chapter of the game if she tries to enter the movie screen in the present timeline. However, there is nothing to worry about right now, so just proceed through this chapter as usual.

Chapter 4

No one can die in Chapter 4, so just explore the mansion with Madison and the modern team to progress the story. Don't forget to keep an eye out for trinkets and other collectibles.

Chapter 5

Chapter 5 features the first potential character death: Jaime. The first half of the chapter involves some relationship drama between Jaime, Chris, and Robert, but these decisions do not affect anything significant.

At the end of the chapter, Frank Stone appears and grabs Chris. Playing as Jaime, you can either run or try to save her. You need to run. If you decide to confront Frank Stone, Jaime will be cut in half. It is possible that Jaime has a potential way to fight using firecrackers from the store and survive, but it is unclear how to do this. Just run if you want to save everyone in The Casting of Frank Stone.

Chapter 6

Chapter 6 is safe in The Casting of Frank Stone, so just enjoy all the references to Dead by Daylight in the mansion and get to know Madison, Linda, and Stan a little more. You don't need to do anything special in this chapter to get the best ending.

Chapter 7

The events of Chapter 7 can lead to a character's death later on, so you need to be careful. This chapter introduces the camera mechanic, which allows you to fend off Frank Stone by taking his picture. As Linda, you just need to photograph Frank Stone whenever he appears to survive.

When Frank appears, the camera lights up green, and the music intensifies. Just take his picture until he disappears if he tries to interfere with you while repairing the generator. If Linda does not fend off Frank, she will get hooked. This won't kill her immediately, but it will make things more difficult later on. Just make sure she gets out of this chapter unscathed if you want to get the everyone survives ending.

Chapter 8

Chapter 8 is one of the shortest in the game, but you can very easily lose several characters here. If you don't solve the puzzle or fail any of the QTEs as Madison, she will die.

In the next part of the chapter, you play as Linda, but there's nothing you can do that will kill her, so just play through her part as usual.

Chapter 9

Chapter 9 returns you to Linda after her encounter with Frank Stone in the 80s. She cannot die here, and this is a fully exploration-based chapter. Take your time, find all the relics and collectibles, and then move on.

Chapter 10

Chapter 10 brings you back to the present with Madison, but Chris has now been pulled into the present time. To get the best ending where everyone survives, you need to send Chris back to her time by choosing the Hopeful dialogue option when prompted. Do not fail the QTE, or everything will go horribly wrong, and you will lose characters.

Chapter 11

With Chris returned to the 80s, Chapter 11 of The Casting of Frank Stone begins. This is one of the shortest chapters in the game, and there is no chance of dying here. Just grab any collectibles you see and proceed with the game.

Chapter 12

Chapter 12 takes you back to the present for further exploration of the mansion with Maddie and Stan. No one can die in this chapter, but there is an important decision that will later kill Madison.

When you discover the medallion in the middle of the chapter, you can give it to either Madison or Stan. Do not give it to Madison. Make sure Stan takes the amulet. If Madison takes the amulet and wears it in the final chapter, Augustine will be able to control her and eventually kill her.

Chapter 13

Chapter 13 is the finale for the 80s team, and it is deadly. The first half of the chapter focuses on Linda, Chris, and Bonnie. Use the camera when prompted to save Chris from Frank Stone, or she will meet a gruesome death. No matter what you do, Bonnie will get hooked and killed by Frank. There is no way to avoid this death, but it won't prevent you from getting the achievement and the best ending.

In the next scene, you take control of Sam as he searches for the film crew in the storm drain. Use the camera to protect yourself from Frank Stone when he appears, or Sam will be killed. While exploring the storm drain as Sam, climb over the ledge lit by orange light to find an injured Jaime awaiting rescue. There is also a relic along the way, so pick it up as well. Be ready with the camera to fend off Frank Stone as you approach Jaime.

After rescuing Jaime, continue through the storm drain as Sam to find Chris. Frank Stone will appear again shortly after, but you already know how to deal with him. Just point the camera at him.

After that, continue along the main path until you reach Linda. Now it's time for the final battle with the ghostly green Frank Stone. Defeat him using the camera. Do not fail any QTEs, or Sam and Linda will die. If you successfully fend off Frank with the camera, everyone will survive.

Chapter 14

The final chapter of The Casting of Frank Stone is the deadliest, and another inevitable death lies ahead. The movie The Murder Mill is being shown, and Frank Stone emerges from the screen to grab Stan. Do not press any buttons and intentionally fail the QTE. Then choose to retreat so that Stan dies.

Someone always has to die when Frank Stone takes the stage. It's best if it's Stan. If you save Stan, Frank will just grab Linda, and Sam will still have to choose between retreating or sacrificing himself. Just let Stan die — it's the easiest path. His death does not count against the achievement or the best ending.

After Stan's death, you take control of Linda. Go to the next room and quickly fix the generator. If you fail the skill checks or take too much time, Linda will die. When Linda and Madison exit into the hallway after the generator scene, they will be cut off by Frank. Choose to help Madison. The person Frank Stone consumed earlier (in this case, Stan) will prevent him from killing the girls. If you choose to flee to the elevator instead, both women will be killed.

After the elevator scene, Madison escapes to the reliquary and meets Augustine. Choose the Furious dialogue option to reject her offer. If Madison took the necklace in Chapter 12, Augustine can take control of her and kill her. If you gave the necklace to Stan, Madison will escape alive.

As you leave the reliquary, you need to go through several QTEs and skill checks. Don't fail any of them, or Frank Stone will kill Madison. During the chase, Madison will encounter Sam. Choose to flee instead of helping. Attempting to help will result in Madison's death. Once Madison escapes, there will be one final set of QTEs as Sam. Don't fail any of them, or Sam will die.

At this point, you have successfully reached the end of The Casting of Frank Stone, and everyone is alive! In the final part of the game, Madison walks through the woods and learns what happened to the fragments of the Murder Mill film in the 80s after the incident with Frank Stone. She comes to a campfire (a nod to Dead by Daylight) to find Sam and Linda waiting for her.

That's the end of the game! Congratulations! The Entity Displeased trophy should pop up after the credits.

How to Save Jaime

To save Jaime in The Casting of Frank Stone, you need to make just a few key decisions:

  • Chapter 5: Escape and do not save Chris;
  • Chapter 13: Save Jaime from the storm drain while playing as Sam.

How to Save Chris

There are several ways to save Chris in The Casting of Frank Stone, but following this sequence of decisions is the easiest way to ensure she survives the night:

  • Chapter 10: Choose Hopeful as Madison to send Chris back to the 80s;
  • Chapter 13: Use the camera to save Chris from Frank Stone.

How to Save Stan

You cannot save Stan in The Casting of Frank Stone. Stan faces a grim fate in Chapter 14 regardless of your choices. He will either be consumed by Frank Stone if you fail the QTE when he appears through the movie screen, or he will be stabbed when the other characters soon after escape into the mansion hallway. If you want to keep Stan alive until this point, just don't fail any QTEs when he's on screen.

How to Save Sam

Sam is one of the easiest characters to save in The Casting of Frank Stone, as there is only one decision that leads to his death. Most of his potential deaths occur due to failed QTEs.

Here are the main points to keep in mind to keep Sam alive:

  • Chapter 1: Unhook Sam by successfully completing the QTE;
  • Chapter 13: Repel Frank Stone using the camera;
  • Chapter 14: Choose to retreat instead of sacrificing Sam to save Stan or Linda.

How to Save Madison

Madison is one of the easiest characters to save in The Casting of Frank Stone, but as the main lady of the story, she also has the most potential death scenes.

Make these key choices to save Madison:

  • Chapter 8: Successfully solve the puzzle and do not fail any QTEs;
  • Chapter 12: Give the medallion to Stan;
  • Chapter 14: Choose Furious to reject Augustine's offer, do not fail any QTEs, and choose to flee instead of helping Sam.

How to Save Linda

Linda has plot armor for most of The Casting of Frank Stone, but she can still die very easily in the game's finale.

Make these choices to keep Linda alive for the finale:

  • Chapter 13: Repel Frank Stone using the camera;
  • Chapter 14: Let Stan die at the hands of Frank Stone by failing the QTE, fix the generator in time, and choose to help Maddy instead of going to the elevator.

If you follow all these steps, you should have no problem keeping every key character alive in The Casting of Frank Stone. Once you've achieved the trophy and completed your first playthrough of the game, you can continue to explore the locations to see other potential endings and branches. All the skulls on the flowchart indicate potential deaths, so you can see how lucky you are that everyone survived the night.
