Alan Wake 2: The Lake House is an exciting story expansion for the original game, immersing us in the thrilling adventures of FBI agent Kieran Estevez. In the best traditions of Control, this DLC offers a unique experience where documents and files with important information scattered across various corners of the location play a key role. These elements not only enrich the plot but also help to understand the game world and the characters' motives more deeply. Let's take a detailed look at how you can find and study all these valuable materials.
During the passage of this part of the expansion's location, you will be able to find six documents. Note that the documents must be found before you leave this place, as you will not return here again.
Turn right as soon as you pass through the checkpoint after entering the building: in one of the offices directly in front of you, you will find the first document.
One of the most important objects on the ground floor are the elevators: the second document will be located on the nearest table to them.
We move to another key place on the ground floor: Mr. Marmont's office. One of the documents there is located on the wall, directly to the right of the entrance.
The fourth and fifth documents are located in different parts of Mr. Marmont's desk.
It is associated with a statuette standing on a shelf right by the window.
The first time here, we can find two documents.
After exiting the elevator, walk a bit forward, then immediately turn right to notice a small doorway. Inside, a document will be waiting for you.
The eighth document, in turn, is waiting for you in the upper storage room opposite the previous room.
Here we will find seven new documents.
After descending the elevator, immediately to your left, you will find the office of the technical department staff, where the necessary item awaits you.
To obtain it, proceed to the office opposite the technical department staff office.
In the same room, on the magnetic board, hang the eleventh and twelfth documents.
Now proceed down the corridor, where the thirteenth document will be located near the projector.
Entering the large room at the end of the corridor, immediately turn right, go through the first door into the small archive and find the necessary table.
The fifteenth document lies in the opposite part of the large room: you will need to get to the upper office on the left.
Here you can find 12 new documents.
Once on the second floor, proceed to the room at the end of the corridor, then turn to its right half, where the sixteenth document will be waiting for you on the floor.
Another document can be found there: it lies on the table in the corner.
Head to the opposite left part of the room: there you will find the eighteenth document.
Now you will need to proceed to another table in the same area, which also has one of the password-protected computers.
The twentieth document is located on the table with another password-protected device, which is in the control center. Nearby, you will also find an elevated access level pass.
In the control center on the right, there is a door with second-level access. Behind it, on the board in the office, hangs the necessary item.
In the same room, on the table, will lie the twenty-second document.
After deactivating the shutdown protocol, head to the project Anubis workspace and inspect the magnetic board.
Now approach the central table in the room located opposite the previous office.
Return to the large room immediately after the corridor with the elevator, and there proceed to the security service room.
Heading to the new elevator location, enter the room on the left and approach one of the tables.
Now proceed to the opposite room, which is located to the right of the elevator.
Rising higher, we can now visit new places that were previously inaccessible. Thus, we find two new documents.
Using the second-level access pass, enter the previously locked storage room, where the twenty-eighth document will be waiting for you on the central table.
In one of the corners of the same room, near the third-level access pass, lies the twenty-ninth document.
With the new pass, we can fully explore this place and find another document.
Open the locked area to the right of the large room after the corridor, where the elevator used to be. There is an interrogation room and the thirtieth document.
At first, instead of immediately reaching the fourth basement floor, you will enter a small unusual space, where there is a high chance of missing the thirty-first document.
After the plot dialogue ends, turn to the elevator and notice the sheet lying on the floor in front of you.
The final part of the DLC walkthrough includes six documents.
Descending the stairs, you will enter a kind of maze-like archive. Enter the room with the tapes, which is located after defeating the first special enemy. The thirty-second document will be lying on the central table.
Before entering Ms. Mermont's office, inspect the cluttered tables to your right.
In Ms. Mermont's office, pay attention to the table with the blue surface: there are two documents lying there.
Now head to the opposite table.
After turning off the light in the office using the switch in the corridor, return there and notice the sheet on the floor right in front of the projector.
After inspecting all the documents, you will receive the achievement Floor by Floor.
